I'll just get to the point(s)...
You gotta respect Monty Williams in New Orleans. No they may not make the playoffs but don't be surprised if they do. Monty Williams is a a true basketball guy and is one heck oif a coach. WHat he and GNM Dell Demps have had to go through since they've been on the Hornets job must be commended, period! The team is 2-0 and yea you didn't even think that so give the props. Monty has the tools to throw an array of lineups at you. Many will take notice if th...

It is being reported by the Phoenix News Times that in just days, Steve Nash will retire from basketball and enter the world of politics.

This isn't going to go over well with Blake Griffin fans but as a Blake Griffin fan it's got to be said. Blake Griffin's dunk of the car in the final round of the dunk contest was, well wack, lame and not so good. Yes it gave you the thrill and rush of someone jumping over a car and dunking a basketball but really at least jump OVER the car and not just the hood. Blake's regular season boom on Mosgov was much more impressive not just because it was in a game but because Mosgov sits higher tha...

Believe it or not many people enjoy watching NBA All Star Saturday night more than the actual All Star game (on Sunday.)
I am one of those people.
And moreover, some people mostly care about the Dunk contest...which I think the league knows, because that's why it's the last event for the night.
Well for the first time a number of years the Dunk contest was a lot of fun to watch! I mean, there were still anti-climatic moments...but at least folks are conscious of ...

David West is a ballplayer. Shows up at the gym and put his team in position to win. Knocks down the mid range wing J like nobody's business. Some say he doesn't go strong. I'll agree it LOOKS like that but it IS NOT that. West finishes strong when needed. He's a sound solid player that puts up modest numbers (18.9ppg 74.rpg .9bpg) on a contending team that has a top flight PG in Chris Paul in what is easily the toughest division in the league, the Southwest.

Our poll this week is asking you about NBA players persuing music careers and I couldn't help but to think of Wayman Tisdale. The former college standout at Oklahoma followed by a 12 year run in the association with Indiana, Sacramento and Phoenix may have had a bigger career with a bass guitar than on the hardwood. Tisdale was lethal with that bass to the tune of eight albums with the debut coming in 1995 with Power Forward while he was still playing to his final album ...

So I heard that Dwight Howard can win the Defensive player of the Year award the rest of his career. Really is that so? Is he a heck of a defensive player , why yes indeed. Winning the award for a lifetime heck nah. Let's not forget Kevin Garnett and Marcus Camby (the pervious winners prior to Dwight)are still in the league. Yes KG has slowed and Camby is stuck in Portland but I'm not going to just give Dwight the trophy by default. heck nah. Defense is what wins championships and ummm yes Ca...

So Phil has spoken again. This time he's voicing hisdispleasure of Christmas Day games in the NBA. He's miffed as to why the NBA puts so much emphasis on it when other leagues don't. A quick check of the 2010 December 25th sports schedule shows the NFL is playing on Christmas this year- being it a Saturday may have something to do with it, don't recall a Wednesday NFL game, Christmas or not. The NHL isn't skating and thank goodness baseball does not drag the World Series out that long.

Its official the NBA owns the New Orleans Hornets after the board of governors has approved the transaction. As weird as it is, it's not uncommon in professional sports such as Major LeagueBaseball, and the National Hockey League to step in and take over one of its franchises in their respective leagues, but; the NBA, well this is a first. I've followed the Hornets from the jump this season and since the deal was made pending the approval, you really haven't seen a difference in the Hor...
